Mario Rivera is a 2006 LHP with a 6'0'', 156 lb. frame from Tegucigalpa FM, Honduras, who attends The American School. He is a slender and projectable pitcher. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Rivera gets good rotation with his body, and he repeats his delivery well. Rivera has a loose arm that helped produce a fastball that topped out at 71 mph. He finishes his pitches well, and shows good control of his fastball and his secondary pitches. Rivera also throws a 66 mph curveball, and a good straight changeup at 64 mph. His changeup keeps hitters off-balance and out on their front foot. Rivera sets up hitter well showing good pitchability for a young lefty. He also works quickly with good tempo that will keep his defensive players in the game. Rivera is a good student as well.
