Beppler is a 6-2, 160 lb. left handed pitcher who looks like he can add some strength and grow into his frame in the future. He showed us a 79-80 mph fastball in Chapel Hill and did a good job of keeping the pitch down low in the zone and on the corners. Beppler’s best pitch was a 71 mph change up that had batter’s consistently reaching and lunging. Beppler throws two different breaking balls; a 66 mph curveball that gets a big, rolling break and a shorter, sharper curveball in the low 70’s. As long as he’s throwing strikes with all his pitches, Beppler’s going to be able to get outs. He seems to have good poise and knows how to pitch. He projects to get much stronger and much better. Mark is an excellent student.
