2004 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Matt Lehman is a well built 2006 pitcher from Charlotte, North Carolina, who showed three solid pitches for the next level with normal development. He has sound pitching mechanics and does a good job of maintaining a downhill plane to the plate from a standard ¾ release point. Lehman’s arm stroke is short in back and a bit short of ideal extension in front. His fastball was 82-84 mph. Lehman’s secondary pitches were solid, too. His curveball was 70 mph with a big 11/5 break. Lehman showed confidence in his 70-74 mph change up, and it was a good pitch for him as well. He’s a good one for college coaches to keep an eye on.
