Cameron Varga is a 2014 RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Loveland, OH who attends Cincinatti Hills Christian Academy. Strong athletic build, physically mature. Simple leg raise delivery, long extended arm action, 3/4's arm slot, lays arm back, very fast and loose coming through, some effort at release. Velocity comes easily, mostly 93-95 mph, good late run and sink. Hard spin on curveball, inconsistent shape but power pitch with occasional hard downer bite and shape, will look like slider at times as well. Overpowers hitters and pitches aggressively. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina. Selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
