Michael Hudzina is a 2006 outfielder/left handed pitcher from Charlotte HS in Port Charlotte, FL, with a 6'0", 175 lb. frame. Defensively he has very good actions and has great range in the outfield. Hudzina anticipates the ball off the bat well which helps him get good jumps, along with his first step quickness. He rounds out his defense with good arm strength and on-line throws. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with an aggressive swing and attacks pitches with very good bat speed. Despite his aggressive swing, Hudzina stays balanced throughout his swing. The ball jumps off his bat especially when he pulls the ball, but he can still drive the ball to the opposite field. He projects to be a top of the order hitter who can also drive in some runs at the next level. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot and moves his fastball in and out. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with some arm side life, but his best pitch is his change up that he threw from 74-76 mph. He is a solid follow with a good future.
