2011 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Devin Pickell is a 2011 LHP with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St Patrick HS. Medium athletic build, some lower 1/2 strength. Leg raise delivery, good hip turn, doesn't get fully open, cross body release, high 3/4's slot, good angle to the plate. Fastball to 88 mph, mostly straight, gets on hitters quickly, aggressive with his fastball. Good feel for 73 mph change, could throw change harder. Changes speeds on breaking ball, similar shapes between curveball/slider, will have to improve feel for breaking ball consistency. Nice left handed prospect. Signed with Valparaiso.
