LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 National Showcase
Nathan Robertson is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Twin Falls HS, residing in East Twin Falls, ID. He is a physically built player with a 6'2" 210 lb. frame that just looks powerful. Robertson performed with an injured right shoulder but still showed enough raw ability to be ranked #43 among PG National Top 100 position players. His short and powerful swing produces plus raw power, to all fields. That swing will allow him to not only hit plenty of home runs, but to also hit for average. He is not a power hitter that has a lot of swing and miss in his hitting. Robertson has plus bat speed and is very aggressive with the bat in his hands. He is quite quiet to start and remains that way, even as his swing is underway. It is at contact that he explodes, driving through the ball and hitting line drives with significant carry. Roberston looks like a running back (not sure if he is one) and displayed the type of body control during his swing that you might expect from a skill position football player. Again, his shoulder was injured so a fair throwing and defensive report cannot be filed. Robertson did show his speed and more athleticism by posting a 4.17 home/1st time and a 6.78 60. There is no doubt he is a legitimate middle of the order power bat and should get a lot of pro interest this fall, potentially bringing in crosscheckers to a place they normally do not see much of.
