Evans is an exciting player with some Major League level tools. He is an outfielder with MLB average range and mobility. He took good paths and made things look easy out there showing how his 6.88 speed in the 60 translates to the game properly. He never had to let the ball go from the outfield but we clocked one throw at 78 mph and it looked easy. The most interesting part of Evans was his swing and power potential. He has a strong swing and in BP might have been swinging for the fence too much. But the ball came off his bat real fast and he can turn on a pitch with a late trigger as fast as anyone. He gets a tendency to be pull happy but he would have hit 3 Home Runs to left field no problem if the foul pole was 20 feet to the left. If he straightens it out he will have a big-time tool with the wood. He did rip a double each off a curveball and a fastball. We like the way that bat plays. We need to see more of him ! Good student.
