Rollin Layton is a 2015 RHP/SS/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who is home schooled. Medium athletic build, good present strength. Fast paced leg raise delivery, short compact arm action that hides the ball well, 3/4's arm slot, effort at release affects command and consistency. Mid 80's fastball, topped at 88 mph early, have seen up to 90 mph in the past, good cutting action arm side, tends to get around curveball at times, sweeping 10/4 shape with some spin and depth, developing change up. Good overall athlete who can play infield and outfield as well, arm strength plays at both positions, has good footwork and overall actions in the infield, potential two-way prospect. Right handed hitter, still start, one-piece rotational swing, has strength and raw bat speed but will need to make adjustments against better stuff, has power potential. Good student.
