2003 South Underclass Showcase
Goins is a smaller type middle infielder with prototypical actions at second base and lots of time to develop into one of the top 2Bmen in his class. He showed 75 mph arm strength but never appeared to let one fly in the workout. He plays 2B well with good transfers and body mobility on the double play ball. He showed a bit of a high arm slot on his throws but proved that he can get the job done over and over again. His actions and approach to the ball defensively are near textbook. His bat is another real good ones for a 2006 grad. At just 5 foot 9 and 155 pounds he showed some good bat-speed with wood. He attacks the ball at the plate and hit the ball where it was pitched. He is a good 2006 follow that we need to see more of !
