Austin McWhite is a 2013 RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Wekiva HS. Long lean athletic build. Listed as RHP only but showed well as two-way prospect. Fastball up to 82, long loose arm action, good fade on changeup at 71. Three quarter arm slot, fastball has small tailing action, needs to incorporate lower half into delivery better, has some upside on mound. At the plate he showed quick hands, loose swing, good bat speed, slight uppercut, long swing, some leverage. Inconsistent contact but high level hitting tools to project. Good raw talent both with the bat and on the mound. Good student.
