J.T. Granat is a 2013 1B/3B/RHP with a 6-1 194 lb. frame from Cantonment, FL who attends J M Tate HS. Big mature build, good present strength. Right handed hitter, open stance, stays open, long rotational swing, looking to pull the ball, shows bat speed and ability to lift when hands stay over the ball, power stroke, shows confidence at the plate. Good footwork around the first base bag, good stretch, soft hands. Also pitched, long loose arm action, 3/4's release point, cross body release, works quickly. Fastball topped at 83 mph, mid 70's sweeping slider shows some bite and tightness, can be an effective pitcher throwing more strikes. Good student.
