Evan Dougherty is a 2014 OF/IF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Bishop Verot HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength but lots more room to fill out. 6.64 runner, covers lots of ground in centerfield, good range to both sides, short compact arm stroke, has arm strength but could improve with better extension, on line accurate throws. Right handed hitter, simple swing approach, good shift into contact, has flow, short hand path to the ball, stays closed, line drive swing plane, squares up well and hits to all fields, top of the order speed and approach. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to Duke.
