2005 California Underclass Showcase
Scott Camp is a 2007 right handed pitcher/outfielder from Alemeda, California with a lean build at 6'1", 165 pounds. He has long arms and legs with nice sloped shoulders. He pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action in back and a quick tempo. He gets decent extension on his finish, but he tends to land on his heel. His fastball showed good natural run from his low arm slot at 80 mph. His 69 mph slider has good depth and cut at times. He did not show a change. He changes his arm slot well for deception, sometimes throwing sidearm. He ran a 7.25 in the 60. He hits from a narrow upright stance with a contact approach, but his future is on the mound. He is a smart pitcher with knowledge of how to pitch, and he will be a solid prospect in 2006. Scott is a good student.
