Benjamin Wanger is a 2015 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Newton, MA who attends Belmont Hill. Extra-large, athletic build with long limbs and has projection as he continues to fill out. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, short steps off the bag, easy target to throw to for infielders, charges in well, long arm action on strong throws across. Impressive on the mound, working from a mid three-quarter arm slot with a balanced and repeatable delivery. Fastball topped out at 87 mph with nice arm side run and sink due to arm slot. Comes out very easy and shows good arm speed. Induces weak ground ball contact with fastball and curveball which shows 11-5 depth, looser rotation. Adds and subtracts velo with intent. Left-handed hitter, spread stance and a low hand set start. Short and quick path to ball, generates lift, shows strength to pull side, quick hands, shows pop to all fields with more coming with incorporation of lower half. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Outstanding student.
