Derek Horton is a 2015 OF/ with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Forest, VA who attends Liberty Christian Academy. Medium, highly athletic frame with above average present speed. Ran a 6.91 60 yard dash. Shows a lively outfield arm, a little erratic with it at times, but has big carry and attacks the ball aggressively. Very athletic defender with range in the outfield. Bats right-handed, works from a wide stance with his hands behind his ear. Uses a small leg lift and makes hard line drive contact. Stays inside the ball and shows good bat speed. Nice approach at the plate. Good student.
