Nick Goldsmith is a 2014 1B/3B, RHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Dyer, IN who attends St Rita Of Cascia. Tall, strongly built first baseman. Ran a 7.57 60 yard dash. Bats right-handed, works from an upright setup and leans back in his swing. Takes a long stride and an aggressive swing. Has lift in his swing and power potential. Shows an accurate arm across the diamond and moves well off the bag. Flashes good range. Also took the mound, reaches 79 mph from a high three-quarter arm slot. Mixes in an 11-5 curveball that needs tightening at 63 mph. Flashes an ability to spot a changeup as well. Excellent student.
