Warne is a 5-11, 180 lb right handed hitting first baseman from Texas. He ran the 60 in 7.96 and threw a very impressive 84 mph across the infield from first base. Warne is a very good overall defensive first baseman and with his arm strength and soft hands there is no reason that he shouldn't be able to play third base as well. It would be interesting to see him on the mound, too. Warne has some upper body and hand strength that enables him to generate some raw bat speed. He hits out of a no stride approach with little upper body movement through the ball and tends to dip his hands and shoulders during his swing, which leaves him under many pitches. He has the ability to improve at the plate. Warne is a good student.
