William Hirsch is a 2006 right handed pitcher/third baseman from Suffolk, VA with a medium build at 6-0, 175 lbs. He is a very athletic primary pitcher who can run (6.88) and hit and play third base at a college prospect level. Hirsch throws from a 3/4's arm slot with a very short and quick power arm action. His fastball is consistently 89 mph and has good late life in the strike zone. Hirsch will occasionally drop down a bit on his fastball as well and he shows very good command of this pitch. His curveball is a power pitch at 74 mph with a very sharp break and good depth. Hirsch didn't show us a change up in Atlanta but he should have no problem developing a feel for one with his athletic ability and command. Hirsch is an excellent student off the field who has committed to Georgia Tech for college.
