Wynton Weather is a rock solid 6'1", 225 lb. catcher from Virginia Beach, Virginia who can really hit. Behind the plate, Wynton showed pop times ranging from 1.99-2.03 and a top velocity of 75 mph. He has quick transfers with good footwork, and clean true backspin on throws that show good carry to the bag. He still has room to develop more arm strength and should be in the 1.90-1.95 pop range very soon. Maybe the most impressive thing about Wynton defensively were his hands. They are very strong and soft, and there is a distinct difference between how he receives pitches into his glove and comparable high school catchers around the country. Wynton is a right handed hitter with a medium base and pro level strength. He has a rock back trigger with a very short and quick bat path, and ability to drive the ball out of the park to all fields. He has very good balance in his swing with pro power projection. He has advanced muscle tone for his age and should continue to get stronger. Keep an eye on him as an offensive type catcher who can play at top programs around the nation. Scouts will want to see him.
