Alex Hanson is a 2014 OF/2B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Steinbrenner HS. Medium frame, strong athletic build. Hits from a slightly open stance with a wide base, leg kick int stride, busy lower half with moving parts, prevents him from unlocking hips to utilize raw power. Aggressive swing with good bat speed, pull approach with strength at contact, heavy on front foot, good upper half swing mechanics, has the tools to hit, good balance and extension. Short arm action, accurate throws, works to the ball well and covers some ground in the outfield. Excellent student.
