Marshall Skinner is a 2016 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Ranch HS. Strong and stocky catcher's build. Receives the ball well behind the plate with a low and flexible set up, very good arm strength with a quick transfer, threw very well in games and threw out multiple runners, 1.94 best pop time, solid behind the plate in all regards. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a short stride in, front side tends to be early, long and strong rotational swing from a deep load, may benefit from hitting taller, has the strength to hit and creates raw bat speed. Also pitched, extended 3/4's arm slot, swings the front gate and front side tends to be early, arm works well coming through. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight, curveball had big sweeping shape, nice change up he could throw more often. High level catching tools with the strength to hit with adjustments. Good student, verbal commitment to Houston.
