Miguel Rivera is a 2017 1B/LHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends G. Holmes Braddock HS. Rivera has a medium sized frame with a thick build and broad shoulders. Defensively he moves well around the bag at 1B and moves like a first baseman. Rivera showed good footwork coming off the bag and showed the ability to pick it. At the plate, Rivera starts with a slightly open crouched stance and high back elbow. He showed some bat speed and hand quickness in his swing. Rivera looks to pull and has a rotational swing. He pitches from a high 3/4 - overhand arm slot with a long arm action. Rivera has a slight hip turn at balance point and some arm speed. He throws a 1/7-12/6 curve ball with some depth to it. Good student.
