Jake Godfrey is a 2014 RHP with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from New Lenox, IL who attends Providence Catholic HS. Big strong physical build. High 3/4's arm slot, works downhill well, compact arm action, tends to land open on his front side. Fastball to 92 mph, very good arm side run at times, showed the ability to get his fastball to the glove side as well, consistent fastball life. Tends to open of early on curveball, fair spin at times with good velocity and sweeping break. Nice fade and sink on change up, slows arm at time. Both off speed pitches show promise with adjustments. Got in a good rhythm and overmatched some very good hitters with solid stuff. Good student, verbal commitment to Notre Dame.
