Connor Denning is a 2017 C/3B, P with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Arcadia High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, present strength, and room to continue to develop physically. Posted an impressive 6.94 time in the 60 yard dash. Very impressive athlete that worked out from all three spots. Graded out best from the infield despite arm strength up to 88 from the outfield, fielded out front with a quick transfer and good footwork up the middle. From behind the plate, stayed low through reception, extended arm stroke, and a workout pop time of 1.93. At the plate, started with a wide base, high hand set, high back elbow, and toe tap into a stride timing mechanism. Showed raw bat speed with an active barrel into swing. Good rhythm and momentum with an all fields approach. Swung with intent and a consistent line drive swing plane with power potential. Also pitched, did so with a drop and drive element, worked from the first base side of the rubber, repeated well, deeper hip turn, and used a short, compact arm action. Threw from a close to over the top arm slot and generated good heaviness on his fastball that worked 82-85/86 mph. Curveball showed 12/6 shape and flashed sharpness. Flashed a changeup with fade at 80 mph as well. Exceptional student. Named to Top Prospect List.
