Alex Jackson is a 2016 LHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Mahomet, IL who attends Mahomet-Seymour HS. Well proportioned athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. Slow paced delivery, kicks his leg out late, short stride and lands a bit closed, high 3/4's arm action, ball comes out of his hand easily. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, fastball mostly straight with good downhill angle. Showed quality with both his curveball and slider, tends to ease up on his curveball but it has hard spin when he throws it with conviction. Slider was short and sharp and consistent, especially from the stretch. Still developing his change up. Showed better command and crisper stuff when working out of the stretch, tends to vary pace when in his full wind up and be inconsistent. Has all the pitches and the physical projection to keep improving. Signed with Heartland CC.
