Kaleb Roper is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Kenner, LA who attends Archbishop Rummel HS. Long slender build, lots of room to get stronger, projects well physically. Long loose arm action with some early wrap in back, high 3/4's arm slot, simple delivery mechanics and stays balanced and on line well. Mid to upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, more velocity there in the future, tended to lose velocity from the stretch, can spot his fastball and did a good job working corners. Showed feel for his breaking ball, two distinct types at times but at other times melded together, lower velocity curveball showed good spin with some bite and 11/5 depth at times, would ideally develop more of a true hard slider in the future, rare change up. Has pitchability, projection and the ability to spin the ball, should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Good student.
