2013 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Ryan Byrd is a 2014 OF/ with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Red Bank, NJ who attends Middletown North. Large, lean frame with room to fill out and add strength. Good runner, posting a 7.00 60 yard dash. Speed plays well in the outfield as he covers a good amount of ground and gets in position to make the play. Athletic movements and projects as a center fielder with his tool set. Shows some arm strength from a short arm slot with carry on throws. Right handed hitter who hits from a narrow base start and uses a toe tap trigger. Upper body swing and keeps hands in close while showing some bat speed. With more use of lower half, should see power increase in bat. Good student.
