Ben Martz is a 2017 C with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Thousand Oaks, CA who attends Thousand Oaks HS. Strong prototypical catcher's build, looks durable. Good arm strength with carry on his throws, has sound shifting and blocking actions behind the plate, tends to toss the ball from glove to hand in his exchange, 1.95 best pop time. Right handed hitter, crouched over closed stance at the plate, patient hitter who works the count, stays short to the ball and works the middle to opposite fields, has the strength and raw bat speed to open up his swing with a more directional all fields approach.
