Jake Huxtable is a 2008 MIF/3B from Winter Springs HS in Winter Springs, FL, with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame. He ran the 60 in 7.35 and threw 73 mph during infield drills. Huxtable has very good lower body quickness and life. He shows good range in the field and fluid actions and showed in the games that he could make the diving plays. He will need to continue to work on his release and arm action to maximize his arm strength. Huxtable hits with a no load approach and a short stride and a very stable base. He shows very quick hands at the plate and a short, line drive swing. Huxtable can really handle the bat head for a young player and is very advanced on how he uses his hands to hit. He makes solid line drive contact to all fields and showed bat speed and the ability to pull the ball with some authority. Huxtable is a good looking young hitter who should continue to improve as he gets stronger. He is a very good follow. Huxtable is also an excellent student.
