2014 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Joey Cardamon is a 2015 RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny Centennial HS. Strong athletic build, especially in the lower half. Simple on line delivery, 3/4's arm slot, repeats mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight, throws fastball to spots around the zone and works ahead in counts. Short slurve type breaking ball, shows slider potential with adjustments. Tends to slow arm on change up, developing command feel for both off speed pitches. Has good physical projection and should continue to improve. Very good student.
