Matthew Cerniglia is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Monroe, NJ who attends St John Vianney HS. Medium young frame, beginnings of some present strength. High energy delivery with a long arm swing in back, high 3/4's arm slot, tends to fall off to the first base side on release. Fastball topped out at 72 mph with lots of arm side running action, soft curveball with occasional 11/5 depth, direction at release impacts ability to throw consistent strikes at present. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a deep hand load, lays the barrel back, swings hard and has some developing bat speed, aggressive hitting approach.
