Rene Ramirez is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-10 178 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends North Shore HS. Medium athletic frame, has some present strength with more to come. High leg kick delivery, has energy in his drive to the plate, high 3/4's arm slot, difficult delivery to repeat. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, live fastball that will ride up in the zone and sink hard down. Slider had good tilt and late biting action. Rare change up but had good arm speed and feel for the offering. Projects well if he can simplify his delivery. Right handed hitter, has sound hitting mechanics with good hitting rhythm, loose and smooth swing, can improve offensively with additional strength. 7.33 runner, field his position well on the mound and also plays the infield. Good student.
