Chase Beal is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-6 215 lb. frame from Queen Creek, AZ who attends Queen Creek HS. Extra large and strong build, well proportioned athletic look. Low hand slow paced delivery, accelerates to the plate, tends to pull head off at release, compact arm action in back, high 3/4's arm slot, works downhill well. Fastball topped at 86 mph, has been upper 80's/touch 90 at WWBA events this summer, fastball gets on hitters quickly, good arm side sink and running action. Hard curveball spin, has power, bite and depth to go with angle, developing change up a bit firm at present. Easy pitcher to dream on with size, arm strength and ability to spin the ball. Showed good athleticism defensively at first base, moves well for his size. Long swing with a high finish and present bat speed, ball travels a long way when squared up. Good student, verbal commitment to North Dakota.
