Drew Yniesta is a 2017 2B/C, RHP, OF with a 5-8 163 lb. frame from Summerville, SC who attends Fort Dorchester. Medium, athletic frame with slender present build; projects well physically moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.98 seconds. Sets up to hit with lower hand set and high back elbow, leg lift trigger with good balance, has quality bat speed through the zone with a line drive swing plane. Ability to match plane is there. Swings the bat hard and shows good jump off the barrel when square, will use entire field when necessary. Quality athleticism behind the plate, receives well and transfers cleanly, shows good footwork into throw down mechanics, very good arm strength with pop times as low as 2.02 seconds. Showed well in the infield as well, gets around the ball and fields cleanly, gets into good position to throw and makes strong, accurate throws across up to 85 MPH. Pitched as well, stretch only, big leg lift into delivery, overtop arm slot with solid arm speed and hip rotation. FB worked 79-82 MPH with life to arm side, got FB to both sides of the plate and kept it down in zone. CB shows 11/5 shape with good depth; also mixed in a CH with good arm speed and slight fade. Very good student.
