Drew Young is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Centerton, AR who attends Bentonville HS. Nice athletic build with good well proportioned strength. Drop and drive delivery with a good pace, compact arm action with a 3/4's arm slot, athletic delivery. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph early, gets some flat running action on his fastball but could improve downhill angle. Nice change up with big sinking and running life. Soft curveball shows good depth at times. Throws consistent strikes but will need to improve ability to hit spots and keep the ball low in the zone. Showed very good athleticism in outfield drills with a quick release and a strong, accurate arm. Right handed hitter, upper half rotational swing, has present bat speed and would have even more with more use of his lower half, has offensive and two-way potential with adjustments. Strong athlete who should keep improving. Good student.
