Zack Boobas is a 2017 C/3B/OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Nicholson, GA who attends Jefferson High School. Medium frame, compact build with a strong lower half. Posted a 6.94 60 yard dash. Behind the plate, showed a quick release, solid hands and accuracy to the bag with pop time as low as 2.00. At the plate, utilized a slightly open stance and a wide base. Showed present bat speed and barrel feel with consistent line drive contact. Should look to incorporate lower half more into swing. Repeats swing plane well with intent to drive the ball. On the mound, used a short, compact delivery, three quarter arm slot and worked exclusively from the stretch. Lands online and does well to create plane down in the zone. Straight fastball up to 76 and used a 9/4 breaking curveball that flashed depth. Very good student.
