Jonathan Schiffer is a 2017 3B/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Irvine, CA who attends Mater Dei HS. Strong athletic build. 7.42 runner, smooth defensive actions at third base, soft hands and pretty light on his feet moving laterally, has a good release to his throws with a quick exchange, can improve base throwing mechanics for additional raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, big movement into contact can occasionally cause timing problem, has a smooth swing with good raw bat speed, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared, loose extension out front, projects power in the future. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Washington.
