Zachary Shirey is a 2015 RHP/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Spring, TX who is Home Schooled. Thick extra strong build, fairly mature physically. Compact quick arm action, tight 3/4's arm slot, some cross fire on release, rears back and fires the ball with energy and aggressiveness. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, mostly straight, attacks with his fastball. Slider flashed big sweeping life and good biting action at times. Tends to slow arm on rare change up. Was around the zone with all three pitches. Relievers delivery and profile but good present stuff. Verbal commitment to Lipscomb.
