Nicholas Garza is a 2016 3B/1B/RHP with a 5-11 182 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a short and consistent move into contact, short and direct swing with good hand quickness, swings hard and creates some bat speed, can get a bit uphill in his swing at times, makes hard contact to the middle of the field and is consistent in his mechanics, has hitting tools to continue to develop. Has some one spot athleticism, stays balanced and has soft hands fielding the ball, arm plays better than drills velocity reading. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery, compact arm action with a tight 3/4's release, good direction to the plate. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, works down with his fastball with occasional cutting action. Soft curvebell, tends to slow body/arm on his off-speed. Bat is his best tool. Good student.
