Griffin Weinstein is a 2016 OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Sugar Land, TX who attends Stephen F Austin HS. Solid athletic build, some present strength with more to come. Right handed hitter, short strong swing, stays short to the ball from a calm load, squares the ball up consistently with pull to mid field contact, has base hitting tools and will continue to improve with additional strength. 7.27 runner, has athletic actions in the outfield but footwork through the ball still developing, good arm strength from a compact arm action. Also pitched, quality secondary pitcher. Houston Street type delivery, arm is quick and compact from a high 3/4's slot, can improve consistency. Fastball to 82 mph, mostly straight but located well, curveball had good 11/5 shape and occasional depth. Solid all around athlete. Good student.
