Ryland Cox is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-6 195 lb. frame from Taylor, TX who attends Taylor HS. Long and lean build, has some present strength, especially in his core, with plenty of room for more. Simple and compact on line delivery, arm works well from an over the top release slot, will pull off his head and upper body to ge t his arm through and fall off to the first base side on release. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 91 mph, gets nice downhill plane on his fastball and hard running action down in the zone, also showed the ability to ride his fastball over barrels up in the zone, fastball is a difficult pitch to square up. 12/6 curveball flashes good shape and tight spin but doesn't get on top of it consistently. Change up feel is still developing. Lots of projection moving forward and fastball plays up with life and plane. Developing better off speed pitches will be key. Good athlete who will keep improving.
