2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Bryson Worrell is a 2017 C/OF, RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Sims, NC who attends James Hunt. Large frame with excellent present athleticism and solid build; overall highly projectable frame. Ran extremely well, posting a 6.69 seconds 60 yard dash time. Switch hitter, projects for both average and power from both sides of the plate. High hand set from right side with great smoothness in swing, mostly line drive plane but leverages swing for HR power, has HR power, turns barrel well and catches it out in front. Slightly more rotational from left side, swing gets a bit longer but still has fluidity and obvious strength, extends very well through contact with excellent jump off the barrel. High impact hitting prospect. Fields cleanly in the OF with fluid, quick work through, shows good routes and athleticism, excellent arm strength up to 86 MPH. Shows excellent flexibility and athleticism behind the plate, strong receiver, pops with explosion and throws downhill, relaxed set, up to 79 MPH and pops as low as 2.02 seconds. Pitched as well, shows shorter arm action to high 3/4 slot, gets downhill with plane, tighter delivery throughout, FB worked 80-84 with good natural heaviness, showed CB with varying shape from more traditional 11/5 to slightly sharper, sluervier offering. High potential overall prospect. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to East Carolina. Excellent student.
