Jesse Carlos Garcia is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Bellaire HS. Young compact build, still has some room to grow and get stronger, long arms for his size. Slow paced start to his delivery with a high leg lift, powers to the plate with energy, stays balanced and finishes well, fast arm with some whippiness from a 3/4's to mid 3/4's slot. Fastball in the low 80's, topped at 84 mph and maintained his velocity well, gets good arm side run and some sink when down in the zone, best command to his arm side but tries to work glove side as well. Sweeping 2/8 curveball with late break and a deceptive plane, flashed a decent change up. Knows how to pitch and is effective changing a hitter's eye level. Fills up the strike zone with all pitches, good athlete who fields his position well. Impressive performance. Good student.
