Dayton Provost is a 2015 OF/2B/SS with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Newhall, CA who attends Hart HS. Tall well proportioned athletic build, has present strength with room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, big hand load creates inconsistency in hand path, fast hands with good bat speed, gets to his front side early, short swing with strong pull tendencies, high finish with some lift, ball comes off the barrel, lots of hitting tools to develop with adjustments. 6.82 runner, graded out better at third base this event, has quick feet and aggressive actions towards the ball, charges well, some arm strength helped by a quick release. Has the same energy and aggressiveness in the outfield, longer arm action, developing footwork. Bat is his tool, has the athleticism to develop on defense. Very good student, verbal commitment to UCLA.
