Alex Hechtner is a 2014 MIF/ with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Creighton Preparatory. Hechtner has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he has quick feet and good footwork to the baseball. Hechtner has athletic actions with a quick release and quick transfers. He also showed arm strength up to 81 MPH. At the plate, Hechtner starts with a slightly open stance and uses a high leg kick load to start his swing. He maintains balance through his swing and showed athleticism in his swing. Hechtner has a line drive approach and takes his hands to the baseball well. He showed some bat speed and made good contact to the pull side. Outstanding student.
