Fausto Lopez is a 2016 SS/2B with a 5-8 156 lb. frame from Saint Cloud, FL who attends St. Cloud high school. Medium, athletic frame with compact, solid build and good room to continue filling out. Ran well, posting a 6.77 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from open stance with good balance through swing mechanics. Keeps hands back well and is advanced at recognizing spin, lifts leg into load and swings it hard. Quality bat speed and overall approach, hands work well in swing and overall stroke has smoothness. Found the barrel consistently and works to all fields with a line drive approach. Will drive the ball more with additional strength gains. Stole several bases in game action, got huge jumps off pitchers and showed consistently advanced base running acumen. Quick twitch athlete defensively, moves well and fields cleanly in the field, has soft hands and transfers clean. Projects very well at 2B. Accurate throws clocked up to 83 MPH. Named to 2016 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
