Nicolas Lorenzo is a 2018 LHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends Lawton Chiles HS. Athletic frame and build with a strong lower half and broad shoulders. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a compact delivery featuring few moving parts. Simple and repeatable mechanics. Balanced with a slight pause at the balance point. Good rhythm and tempo with a loose arm action that works well. Long arm circle with a slight stab behind the body. Hides the ball well and tough to pick up out of the hand. Fastball recorded up to 80 mph and flashes occasional cutting life. Higher three-quarters arm slot and challenges the strike zone. Slider has tight rotation with 3/8 sweeping action. Curveball shows better depth and mixes both offspeed pitches well into the repertoire. Good student.
