Joshua Hoover is a 2022 RHP/C, 3B, MIF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Heath, TX who attends Rockwall-Heath. Large a physically advanced frame with present strength to the build. Ran a 7.81 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, pitches exclusively from the stretch with a high leg lift to start, full arm stroke up to a high 3/4 arm slot, creates some drive off of back leg with good balance and stays online. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with frequent life, showcased really good feel for his breaking ball that has varying shape either 11-to-5 and 12-to-6, really nice overall feel for pitching with good command and a nice three pitch mix. Secondary catcher, comes out of crouch with some quickness, very clean mechanically staying online to his target, smooth exchange from glove to hand and gets on top of his throws with accuracy to the bag, 1.89 second best pop time. Also took reps in the infield, fields ball out in front with clean hands, releases the ball from an upright position, loose arm that topped out at 78 mph across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, leg lift trigger, flashes some whip to barrel at times, downhill path to the bat resulting in line drive contact when squared. Named to 2018 14U National Top Prospect List.
