Cole Slater is a 2017 C/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Encino, CA who attends Campbell Hall. Medium athletic frame with some present build and good room to fill out. Hits from slightly open stance with very simple mechanics and a simple approach overall, takes direct path to the ball with quick hands and solid present bat speed. Line drive swing plane with solid contact, mostly to the middle and opposite fields. Shows ability to hit balls squarely all over the zone. Sets up relatively high behind the plate, comes up to receive the ball, shows quick actions and compact arm action on throws down to 2B. Gets the ball out quickly and efficiently, popping 2.12 seconds. Blocks well in game to both sides. Very good student.
